I’m not sure how much feedback you get, and I hope it’s welcomed. As I’m feeling grateful during the holidays, you came to mind. My child is now a Biomedical Engineering student at a university in Utah. As a sophomore, they’re already working in a research group studying the heart and are an author on their first paper (something I didn’t do until grad school). They live near campus with their longtime partner—someone they’ve been dating since middle school. They’re healthy, well-rounded, and developing their own thoughts about things. We have different opinions but respect each other’s views and debate without fear. They’ve become an adult that I truly respect. I can’t imagine their life had you not been a quiet part of it.
